HALAL CERTIFICATION PROCESS
8 Steps from Application to Certificate Issuance
Each stage involves different parties and responsibilities within the halal certification system.

Registration and Form Submission
Submit your application through the ptsp.halal.go.id portal and fill out the LPH certification form.

BPJPH Verification
BPJPH reviews and verifies that the application documents are complete.

SJPH Pre-Inspection
LPH reviews the supporting documents for the Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH).

On-Site Audit
Auditors inspect the implementation of the SJPH and the production process on-site.

Preperation of the Audit Report
Halal auditors prepare an official report on the audit findings.

Submission of the Audit Results
LPH submitted the halal audit results to the MUI Fatwa Commission.
07
Halal Fatwa Hearing
The MUI Fatwa Commission determines and certifies the halal status of products.
08
Certificate Issuance
BPJPH officially issues Halal Certificates.

Article 4: “Products imported into, distributed within, and traded in Indonesia must be halal-certified.”
This law serves as the primary legal basis for the implementation of halal product assurance in Indonesia.
Law No. 42 of 2024
On the Implementation of Halal Product Certification
“Products derived from prohibited ingredients must be labeled as non-halal.”
Regulates the implementation of halal certification, including procedures for audits, labeling, and the issuance of certificates.
BPJPH Head Decree No. 20 of 2023
Regarding SJPH Criteria
“Business entities are required to have a Halal Product Assurance System (SJPH) that is consistently implemented.”
This serves as a guideline for implementing the SJPH to ensure that production processes always comply with halal requirements.
