Jakarta, June 19 2026 – As part of its participation in a prestigious international livestock exhibition, SIG successfully held an educational seminar titled “Emerging Contaminants that may be present in fresh animal-based products.” The seminar took place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK). As a leading testing laboratory accredited under KAN ISO/IEC 17025, SIG used this opportunity to educate industry stakeholders on the importance of being vigilant against emerging contaminants that are beginning to threaten fresh animal-based commodities, such as meat, eggs, poultry, and milk.
This seminar thoroughly examined various new contaminants that have the potential to endanger consumer health and lead to product rejections or recalls in export markets. Topics ranged from antibiotic residues, growth hormones, environmental and feed influences, to antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Through this presentation, SIG emphasized the importance of an early laboratory testing approach as a key risk mitigation measure for the modern livestock industry. A total of 40 participants from various backgrounds—including business leaders, manufacturers, academics, and government agency representatives—attended the seminar.
Through this seminar, SIG hopes to raise greater awareness among industry stakeholders to strengthen food quality assurance, so that the animal-based food supply chain in Indonesia becomes safer, grows, and remains sustainable—all in pursuit of a better quality of life for the community (towards a safer world).
