Bogor, July 24 2026 – SIG welcomed delegations from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) as part of the field excursion program of the NICAB Workshop 2026, held under the theme “Enhancing Cutting-Edge Bioscience Research through Advanced Scientific Infrastructure in Indonesia.” The workshop is part of the KOICA-ICAB Project, a collaborative initiative designed to bridge Korea’s scientific innovation with Indonesia’s agricultural potential.
As one of the selected field visit destinations during the workshop, the SIG Laboratory was chosen to introduce the company’s testing and research capabilities to workshop participants. The visit highlighted the important role of industry in strengthening Indonesia’s research ecosystem, particularly in the field of biosciences, in line with the objectives of the KOICA-ICAB Project to enhance research capacity and foster collaboration among universities, research institutions, government agencies, and industry.
Participants in the field excursion represented a diverse range of academic and research institutions, including Seoul National University (SNU), IPB University, the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), the National Instrumentation Center for Environmental Management (NICEM), Daejeon Technopark, as well as several universities and industry representatives from both Indonesia and South Korea.
The visit also provided SIG with an opportunity to showcase its laboratory capabilities through presentations on its testing services and guided tours of its laboratory facilities. Participants observed firsthand the testing processes and research activities conducted in the Instrumentation, Cell Culture, Biotechnology, Genomics, and Microbiology Laboratories, which represent SIG’s core competencies in supporting the advancement of bioscience research. SIG’s participation in the NICAB Workshop 2026 reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to advancing bioscience research by providing accurate and reliable laboratory services. Through this event, SIG continues to strengthen collaborative networks that support the development of science and technology in Indonesia.
