Bogor, March 13, 2025 – SIG received a visit and audit request from the National Food Agency and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China to support the export of Indonesian products, particularly durian, to China. This visit was conducted to fulfill China’s regulatory requirements. One of the key aspects examined was the capability of testing laboratories in Indonesia to ensure food safety.
During this visit, participants attended technical discussion sessions, presentations on SIG’s testing capabilities, and a tour of SIG’s facilities to observe firsthand how the testing process is conducted. Additionally, various opportunities for collaboration in research and the development of quality control systems were discussed during the meeting. With this strategic visit, it is hoped that the Indonesian food and fisheries industries will continue to develop with higher quality standards, opening up broader export opportunities and providing safety assurances for both domestic and international consumers.
