Amino Acids

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins which are the main nutrients in almost all food material or food. Amino acids are an important part of the health of the human body. In addition, amino acids are also required in the management process of farm animals at the stage of development and growth, so that amino acids also become an important part of the preparation of a composition of animal feed.
Amino acids are divided into two main groups: non-essential amino acids (made by the body) & essential (derived from food). A lack of any of the essential amino acids in the diet can lead to poor health.
Branched-Chain Amino Acid (BCAA), L-Carnitine, Taurine, S Ally Cysteine, and Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) are also included in the amino acid group. They are amino acids that are mostly produced in the body and are also found in food. They are amino acids mostly produced in the body, found in food, and have many benefits. For example, BCAAs in metabolism and muscle building, L-carnitine helps the body convert fat into energy, taurine which has important functions in the heart and brain in supporting nerve growth, S-allyl cysteine (SAC) as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer agent, and GABA in helping to overcome feelings of anxiety, stress, and fear.
How SIG can Help
SIG laboratory has experience in amino acid analysis. We can perform amino acid analysis in various food and feed matrices.
The types of amino acids that can be tested in the SIG lab are:
Essentials Amino Acids
- Phenylalanine
- Histidine
- Isoleucine
- Leucine
- Lysine
- Methionine
- Threonine
- Valine
- L-Tryptophan
Non-Essential Amino Acids
- Arginine
- Alanine
- Proline
- Aspartic acid
- Glutamic acid
- Glycine
- Serine
- Tyrosine
- Cysteine
Others Amino Acid
- Branched-Chain Amino Acid (BCAA)
- L-Carnitine
- Taurine
- S Allyl Cysteine
- Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA)
Methods of Analysis
We offer amino acid testing using the liquid chromatography method with detection options using UV-VIS or mass spectrometry.
