Bogor, February 14, 2025 – SIG proudly welcomed a visit from the Greater Jakarta Agricultural Quarantine Center for Animals, Fish, and Plants (BBKHIT DKI Jakarta). The purpose of this visit was to present SIG’s capabilities and competencies as an SNI ISO 17025-accredited laboratory in meeting the needs of the BBKHIT DKI Jakarta. The visit took place at SIG’s headquarters and laboratory, located in Bogor, West Java.
This visit from BBKHIT DKI Jakarta is part of an effort to strengthen synergy between government regulatory agencies and accredited testing laboratories. During the visit, the BBKHIT DKI Jakarta delegation, led by Mr. Mustakim was received by the SIG team, represented by Mochammad Fajar, Assistant Marketing Manager, along with laboratory experts and quality testing specialists.
The Greater Jakarta Agricultural Quarantine Center team conducts a lab tour at SIG to explore its advanced testing capabilities and capacity in supporting food protection and security.
Focus of the Visit: Sharing SIG’s Capabilities in Addressing BBKHIT DKI Jakarta’s Challenges and Needs
During the visit, the BBKHIT DKI Jakarta delegation was given a firsthand tour of SIG’s laboratory facilities, which hold various national and international accreditations. SIG is renowned for its expertise in food safety testing, pesticide residue analysis, heavy metals testing, microbiological analysis, and nutritional content evaluation of agricultural fresh food products (PSAT) and processed foods.
In the discussion session, both parties explored various aspects of the role of testing laboratories in supporting the national agricultural quarantine system. Key topics of discussion included:
- Enhancing Product Safety Standards – A discussion on the importance of accurate laboratory testing to ensure products are free from harmful contaminants.
- Utilizing Technology in Testing – SIG presented the latest technologies used in laboratory analysis to enhance efficiency and accuracy in test results.
During the visit, SIG and the Jakarta Agricultural Quarantine Center engaged in discussions on future collaboration to strengthen food safety standards and improve testing capabilities.
