Antimicrobial Test JIS Method

The Japanese Industrial Standard test JIS L 1902 specifies quantitative and qualitative test methods to determine the antibacterial activity of all antibacterial textile products including nonwovens and antibacterial efficacy. The JIS Z 2801 method tests the ability of plastics, metals, ceramics and other antimicrobial surfaces to inhibit the growth of microorganisms or kill them over a 24 hour period of contact. Several microorganisms include Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and other bacterial strains upon request and tested according to JIS standard methods.

We offer these tests in line with standard test methods, including:

1. JIS L 1902:2015

2. JIS Z 2801:2010+A1+2012

Bacterial suspension is inoculated onto the cloth surface for JIS 1902 and the plastic surface for JIS 2801. Cloth or plastic without antimicrobial agents is prepared as a blank. After a certain contact time, the results are compared to determine the bactericidal activity of the cloth or plastic.
