Electrical Current Leakage Testing
The leakage current test is one of the electronic safety tests. The test measures the undesirable leakage current through or across the surface of the insulation or dielectric of the capacitor. Initially, this test was mandatory only for medical devices but is now also mandatory for household devices. In addition, for safety reasons, the leakage current parameter is included in the standard quality requirements of electrical devices, where the leakage current limit values are differentiated by the type of their device class.
